what happens over the course of a too-hot weekend

this time, 19 minutes remain on the ol’ battery. bless it.

d. is off to fetch us thai food. two days shy of payday, neither of us really has the funds for such a splurge, but i’m certain that will make our red curry and spicy mint noodle taste that much better.

the weekend was terribly hot, but a chilly movie theater and a trip to 1aguna helped ease the annoyance that is early summer. we saw 1eatherheads, because we do like us some c1ooney; however, the movie was more cute than it was good. maybe it was simply what you’d expect. i sometimes lack foresight and didn’t know what to expect, though.

i’m jumping around here, considering i forgot to mention we went to v. and j.’s house for a wonderful heavy hors d’oeuvres dinner friday night. l. and a. were there, too; and we were all celebrating v. and j.’s engagement, along with the fact that l. and i are in the bridal party. this will be my first ever stint as a bridesmaid. (it would be my second, but i’m not going to be able to swing my darling s.’s out-of-state wedding, which is two weeks after i’ll be [hopefully] giving birth.) so, anyhow, the food and conversation were great and long overdue; and i even bit the bullet and played one of v.’s damn games, which turned out the be fun.

back to sunday’s trip to 1aguna, where ex/best friend and i saved a lost chihuahua from certain demise. actually, after at least an hour of sitting with the dog, calling the local animal shelter, and getting animal control on the horn, it turns out that the dog was sitting under its owners’ huge truck the entire time. we found that out when m. finally got in touch with the owner before animal control arrived, and she and her dude nonchalantly retrieved their wee pup without so much as a misty eye.

sorry for the scattered entry. i’m that hungry.
